Extrusion laminated films are proven to have better seal integrity to form fill and seal packs (FFS) over adhesive laminations. Our process laminates two or more substrates together using odour-less, solvent-free, non-toxic polythene-based polymers.
During the heat-sealing process, the polymer tie layer softens, allowing the pack to take a new shape. The seal areas also form good hermetic seals. The polythene-based copolymer tie layer adds bulk to the packs, reinforcing the moisture barrier and providing the structure with more whiteness.
We’ve upgraded our technology to enable us to print in reverse onto PET or BOPP films. These can either be coated with a high performance sealable polymer or laminated to a foil or film.
Typical structures include:
- Ink / Paper / PE
- Ink / Paper / PE / Foil
- Ink / Paper / PE / Foil / Seal
- Ink / Paper / PE / PET / Seal
- PET / Ink / White Sealable LDPE
- BOPP / Ink / White Tie Layer / Metalised BOPP
- PET / Ink / White Tie Layer / Foil / Seal layer
